Founded by renowned instructor CONG Lei, Qi-ology™ is built on a simple, yet profound principle: Every movement must serve the breath, and every breath must fuel vitality.
We believe true wellness begins with the breath. Yet, so often, fitness becomes a pursuit of form or strength over function, where we sacrifice our breathing to achieve a pose or muscular strength - mistaking tension for stability.
Rooted in the ancient wisdom of DAODEJING (ca.400BC) philosophy and supported by modern science, the Qi-ology Method™ treats the body as one integrated system. Through years of practical experience, client treatment, and even human cadaver dissection, founder Cong Lei has woven together insights from both Eastern and Western traditions - including Meridian Theory, Fascial Chains, Taiji, Qigong, Yoga, Pilates, Strength Training, Rehabilitation Exercise, Visceral Manipulation, and more - to create a truly holistic approach.

A Journey of Evolution
2016
Bianca + Suffian: “I think between us, we have the capacity to set up a studio. Let’s do it!”
Just like that, on a humid night, over cups of teh tarik in a coffee shop in Arab Street, Yoga+ Studio was borne.
Within a week from that conversation, we registered for a company, signed a studio space (our Pagoda studio) and designed the first logo. That can-do spirit and gungho-ness continue to be our guiding principle up to this day.
If it doesn’t scare you a little, then you aren’t thinking big enough.
2021
Bianca + Suffian: “That was quite a ride. We made it through!”
We celebrated our 5th year anniversary amidst the pandemic. Despite the challenges and the changes that ensued, we came out of it stronger and clearer of our vision. The studio went through a revamp in its look, direction and purpose.
We also know that to be in the industry for the next 10 years, we had to adapt, open and continuously improve ourselves.
2023

We are excited for the future! The world is evolving and our yoga services are here to stay. We are aiming to reach out to more people with our signature yoga classes and double down on the quality teaching that we provide through our small-sized classes.

With the current wellness trend hitting the masses, Yoga+ studio takes on a pivot and ventures deep into the recuperative and restorative aspect of yoga.

From Injury to Insight
Growing up in an environment where “girls should be seen, not heard,” CONG Lei long sought validation through physical perfection.
By 18, she had destroyed both knees in pursuit of athletic achievement. Later, as a fitness executive, she wore chronic pain like a badge of honor - spine perpetually straight, stomach always held tight - believing this was strength.
It wasn’t until she merged Eastern wisdom with Western biomechanics that she made a life-changing discovery: her “perfect” posture was slowly suffocating her.
True health begins when movement aligns with nature’s principles - fluid, adaptive, balanced, and free from force. Unfortunately, modern life often disrupts this harmony: chronic stress, sedentary habits, aesthetic-focused & unbalanced exercise, restrictive footwear, and low breath awareness, all robs us of natural breathing patterns. Disconnect us from our body’s natural rhythm and weaken our Qi - the vital energy that sustains organs and joints.
That “elegant” slouch at your desk? It compresses your diaphragm. Those graceful strides in heels? They disrupt stability and breath. Those picture-perfect gym poses? They can silently strain your joints.
We breathe roughly 20,000 times per day, 7,000,000 times per year. Each breath should nourish our inner organs and systems - yet dysfunctional breathing (a widely underdiagnosed issue) is linked to sleep disorders, anxiety, chronic pain, and many other health issues. CONG Lei learned this the hard way: through years of fatigue and pain, “clear” MRIs, yet Eastern diagnoses revealed stagnant Qi throughout her body.
