return your body to the way it was designed to breathe, move, and be.

OUR OWN METHOD

- Qi-ology™ Founder, CONG Lei.

Why it exists (The Founder’s Story)

CONG Lei, founder of Qi-ology

It started with a body that looked perfect outside, and was quietly falling apart inside.

By eighteen, CONG Lei had destroyed both knees. What followed were years of chronic pain, discomfort and fatigue — hidden behind a posture that looked perfect, built through years of dedicated training. But that same posture was quietly restricting her breath, feeding the very pain it seemed to defy.

“What does a body actually need to breathe fully, and to be free of discomfort?”

That contradiction became a question she couldn’t let go of. Qi-ology™ is her answer — Western biomechanical science, guided by Eastern wisdom and philosophy.

WHERE IT DRAWS INSPIRATION

the science & the philosophy

Matter and energy in constant exchange
01 · The philosophy

The Dao flows through all things

From subatomic particles to celestial bodies, existence itself is continuous interaction and energy exchange. Lao Zi called this the Dao; the body calls it Qi — the flow of energy, information and matter that sustains life.

Modern science and the biology of flow
02 · The science

Modern science says the same thing

Vitality depends on flow — electron transport in cellular respiration, blood and lymphatic circulation, neural transmission. When flow is compromised, life diminishes.

Structure and function, the way of least resistance
03 · The practice

Wu Wei — the way of least resistance

Structure gives flow its pathway; function brings that pathway to life. Vitality comes not from effort but from the most energy-efficient way to stabilise the body and draw in maximum oxygen. Misalignment forces the system to spend more energy than it needs.

What that means in practice

Qi-ology™ is the practice of restoring whole-body alignment — not to look good, but to work right. Every movement supports the flow of Qi, breath deepens naturally, and the nervous system settles into calm alertness. This is the Dao, understood through the body.

THE PRINCIPLE:

Three pillars, one practice.

“You cannot fix tension without addressing breath. You cannot calm the mind without addressing the body.”

Jing

Body · structure

Your physical foundation — bones, fascia, muscles, and the body's deep reserve.

When JING is misaligned, QI is disrupted. SHEN is stressed, and vis-versa.

A body that stacks well lets gravity do the work instead of fighting it — which is why good posture should feel like less effort, not more.

Qi

Breath · flow

Your life force - the invisible river that animates your body. Breath is the most direct access point to the nervous system, it relaxes the body instantaneously.

Qi-olgoy™ retrain your breath to flow fully and freely to animate your QI: 360-degree breathing and vagus nerve activation. Every movement paired with intentional breathing.

Shen

Mind · calm

Most modern bodies stuck in low-grade alert/survival mode all day. When structure and breath are working, the nervous system finally has the CONDITIONS to settle.

Qi-ology™ gently guide your nervous system toward calm: vagus nerve activation through breath and gentle movement that shift you out of survival mode. Not forcing relaxation — creating the conditions for it to arise naturally

Private - by arrangement

qi-ology™ private one to one.

For pain, injury recovery, or a body that hasn’t responded to anything else. Not a class you book — a programme built for one body, starting with a full evaluation.

Most people come to private work for one of five reasons: pain that has become normal, a recovery that stalled after physio or surgery, fatigue that sleep doesn’t fix, balance and confidence changing with age, or a posture problem nobody has been able to explain. CONG Lei is the only practitioner of the method, and her weekly private capacity is deliberately small.

01

Start a conversation

No form. Speak to any teacher after class, or reply to the email you get when you book. CONG Lei reads every enquiry herself.

02

Evaluate

Ninety minutes: breathing efficiency, alignment, gait, myofascial screen and injury history. This is where your programme gets designed — not guessed at.

03

Practise

60 or 90-minute sessions on a schedule that fits the goal. Scoped and quoted at the evaluation, never sold as a generic pack.

04

Hand back

Progress is measured against your own baseline, not anyone else’s. The intent is that you need fewer sessions over time, not more.

“Yoga+ is a true sanctuary. The music, temperature, and ambience are thoughtfully set. Lei CONG is knowledgeable and shares clear, calming cues with well-paced instruction. Took time to check if we have any questions and readily answers them. A no-nonsense class that brings clarity and alignment. Highly recommended.”
Qi-ology™ Breathing student
“I am an experienced yoga teacher and have done a lot of other different training. Movement and longevity have been important to my life, so I was very interested in Qi-ology. I found the Qi-ology classes in particular very subtle, with huge potential for my body awareness and integration. The eastern aspects combined with the western aspects of body mechanics made it something very unique and very much needed, I feel. A good complement to the harder approaches to fitness and conditioning. It is good to explore both for true longevity.”
Experienced yoga teacher
“Attended a Spine Qi-ology™ class this morning with Cong Lei and I was fascinated with this holistic approach and blend of Western biomechanics & Eastern movement and medicinal knowledge. It was a slower paced class with emphasis on breath and mindful awareness of our body and how it moves. The movements may seem simple but through repetitions, we get a chance to build the connection with our breath. She is knowledgeable, observant and assisted in adjusting us when needed. She also took time to answer any questions we had after class. Left feeling more aligned and was more aware of my posture throughout the day too.”

“Fantastic class with Cong Lei, moved my body in ways I’ve never tried before with a big emphasis on the breath. I feel like I have oiled my hip joints in the best way possible. Lovely and patient instructor. Thank you!”
Qi-ology™ Hip Mobility student
“Tried some movements in this class that I don’t usually come across elsewhere — which made it easy to notice the asymmetry between the two sides of my body. By the end, that unevenness had visibly reduced. A quiet but meaningful way to build body awareness. Thank you Lei.”
Qi-ology™ Hip Mobility student
“Great class, amazing instructor. Class helped to improve my mind-body connection, focusing on proper breathing techniques to execute the moves for a good workout.”
Qi-ology™ Pilates student
“Learning about Qi-ology™ and practising the different techniques was enjoyable — I only wish this could have been a bit longer. The closing sound bath was a lovely way to end the lesson. Thank you, Cong Lei and Sabrina.”

“Lei was really patient with explaining and helping me do the actions properly. She also analysed my posture and gave me suggestions on what exercises to do and what to refrain from. Truly learnt a lot from this one session.”
